Welcome to Miss Dooner’s Year 2 class.

Keep up to date with all that we have been doing by clicking on the images in the blog below.

Our topic for this term is ‘London and The Great Fire of London’.

In Autumn 1 we will be learning about The Great Fire of London and how London changed as a result of the fire.

In Autumn 2 we will be learning about the geography of London and comparing the city of London to the town of St Helens.

Homework and book bags will go out on Friday and need to be returned to school on Wednesday.

P.E. will be on a Tuesday afternoon. Pupils can come to school in their P.E. kits all day.

If a child needs to isolate but is well enough to complete some school work, Miss Dooner will contact them via Teams and send a timetable of work. All children have received a card with their Teams, RM Maths and Purple Mash passwords on them.

Great Fire of London play

Great Fire of London play

Today we have been working with a lady from the drama company Altru on a 'Great Fire of London' drama workshop. We learned a lot about the The Great Fire of London and worked hard to remember all of our lines. Check out our final performance of our play by clicking...

Daily Mile

Daily Mile

In Y2 we enjoy keeping fit by running or walking the 'Daily Mile' during our day. It helps to keep us physically and mentally fit.

The Day the Crayons Quit

The Day the Crayons Quit

Our current class novel is 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywelt. We have really enjoyed sharing this story together during ERIC (Everybody Reading In Class) time.
