Our current class novel is 'The Day the Crayons Quit' by Drew Daywelt. We have really enjoyed sharing this story together during ERIC (Everybody Reading In Class) time.
Year 2 have been flashmobbing around school by doing the 'Palm Oil Conga' to raise awareness of deforestation due to palm oil and the problems that the hornbills are having. Check out the school Twitter page to see the video.
Year 2 had a visit from an artist called Laura-Kate who showed us how to make hornbill masks for our Palm Oil project. She showed us how to use techniques to make different effects with our pencils and brushes. Our masks looked wonderful when they were finished.
Miss Dooner's literacy group have been looking at poetry including kenning poems and shape poems. We had a go at writing our own kenning poems about hornbills and made them into a shape poem. They look wonderful!

This term we have been taking part in Outdoor Learning. In our first few lessons we worked on team-building skills and looked for different types of leaves that we could find in the school grounds.
We have really enjoyed our current music topic called 'I Wanna Play in a Band'. We have listened to and appraised a variety of rock songs and then learned to sing and play a new song. This was us playing the glockenspiels along with the music.
